<text>In the foothills of the Arkansas Ozarks live 540 acres of scouting adventure 30 weeks of Scouting program packed into one week of boys got summer camp, a place where boys Gods can work on rank advancement over 30 merit badges venture to a 30-mile hiking trip or a 50-mile canoe trip. It's called, Yakima. That's the Indian zone word for nest of the Eagles. Boys Scouts have been capping here since 1916, to work on their Eagle Rock.

Well, in the summer. And this is your invitation to join them and put into practice. The 12 points of the scout law, each day is an experience for the scouts at kinema.

They may be going, ready to attempt a mile swim or finish work on another merit badge. Kaya "kemi is the place for all this and more with a lake and river a shooting range for a rifle shotgun and archery camp fire arena climbing a repelling tower non-denominational chapel trading posts and a newly renovated co-course.

One of those goals.

Voice going, is to help the boy grow in moral strength and character. The "Kiche a camp staff is composed of experienced scouting professionals who make it their job to give each boy scout the best summer camping experience they can that includes teaching swimming to those scouts, who have a master those skills yet instructing merit badges during the day, providing entertainment and night and making sure the troop travels on a... Well, in stump.

There are three distinct camping experiences at "guatema camp Osage camp Cherokee and Ozark venture Base Camp Osage provides three meals a day, in a screened in dining all for troops who would rather spend their time working on other areas of their scouting skills.

The dining hall staff takes care of the food and clean up afterwards.

Camp Cherokee provides the groceries for a complete meal three times a day, for the scouts themselves to cook by patrol or troop method scouts could to practice, they're cooking and clean up skills.

Campos age, as the South Fork of the spring river running through its Northwest perimeter here, scouts can swim fish boat canoe and enjoy all the pleasures of cool water on a hot summer day camp. Cherokee is placed around John a cooper lake with all the same water sports along with fishing piers and boat docks each calf has their own water safety staff, so both water fronts can be opened at the same time each week during summer camp, season an honor troop is selected amongst all the troops attending that we honor troops have to show scout spirit good will complete a service project and have good attendance record to all activities and so on.

One of the choices of Kaya KEM is camp site number 13. Al Canon It's a special camp site for special needs. We are very afraid they're accessible for wheelchairs, and closer to the restaurant facilities and it makes it really helpful because they have electrical outlets, here and we have one young man that needs to sleep with oxygen at night time, and that's a little bit... So it would be, if we were just out in the woods somewhere and didn't have that kind of accessibility. So it's a good camp site. And I was strongly encourage any troop who does have special needs, that this would be the kind of place they wanna come to that. The second goal of boycotts is participating citizenship from the flag raising following breakfast to senior patrol leaders meeting as to service projects for the honor troop to vespers to the flag lowering after dinner scouts are reminded of their duty to God, in country.

George Lambert We usually prevent a scout from play in, and fire, but this is a constructive effort here where they were working in fire to the change a piece of metal in from its original source. Something that they have in their mind they wanna make it, you can see it in their face. Bristol inch piece of Rod and any year old can take the option and we at in this teenage and with one hand, they can, they can shake that mental where A they didn't realize how plastic or metal, with the come... We properly heat in.

So I don't know that at a pretty close.

One of the other popular things they do in addition to metal work is the mouth throwing and that's a thing they look forward to each day. It's one of the skills you use back in the fair days is similar to horseshoes and it's just a competition and there is skill in a little hand... A coordination and if it's a lot of fun especially is, you've seen those people breaking out the cards they Nicolson! There, and I see it's so... Oh, good deal.

They have some of the truths that come back to second and just to throw the pot I don't mean to get a... It wouldn't be summer camp without singing camp fires camp fire skins games, contests, friendly true competition a water "meanest-able and a water festival, a big part of Boy Scout summer camp is earning marry badges to get closer to either ran her over. 30. different merits are offered scouts can average earning five merit badges in one week for younger scouts. There is the pioneering program designed to give them a fast start, in the tender for second class and first class ranks hard, they can get most of the requirements done for more than just one rank. This gives them a big boost towards advancing in a race all in just one week.

The waterfront also provide the chance to earn the Boy Scouts of America lifeguard certificate and the mile swim, patch. Not an opportunity that comes along, often high. A cement is one of the oldest yet, recently renovated and expanded Coat courses of any Boy Scout camp.

Robert Allen Basically, what is supposed to do is teach teamwork, and leadership, and communication skills, to the boys where they would give them an element and their objective is to get through it.

And I hopefully by the end of the week there's a better feeling of camaraderie, and stuff like that.

How do you go about developing that team work and communication at when you give them an element? There are different ways for instance, every group is different. You might have one boy who's quiet and then... And stand out, this woman. I wanna get them by.

So, basically, what we can do is like making that guy on that's a good trade. You have one guy who he taught to me I ate or wants to take up all the time. And can you, err, we like to Andre or whatever. So then everybody else has to take over the stepson. The goals of project code are to build leadership self-esteem decision-making trust and teamwork. This is accomplished by progressing through a series of increasingly physical and mentally challenging exercises that require teamwork and cooperation to complete, we start out with the vertical play Pan, which is just a series of obstacles, as you move up and you go into the multi-in Traverse which is the ropes that hang down and you move from rope to rope along that cable and then you go into the Gap step, which is four foot two platforms on the floor for the part, and you step from one of the other, when you go into the one wire high attention to verse which is just a single cable and you hold on to rope and get from one into the other, I believe that's 25-foot long or something like that, and then you go into the sky walk which is the loop it, you go from like the lip and there are four of them out there, and that's probably... I believe the skywalk... Is probably the most narrating a fan that we have. It is open to Scouts 13 years or older, but any scout can get a taste of cold in the afternoon during summer camp.

If canoeing is bad or your liking cache offers a 50-mile canoe trip on the 11 point river in southern Missouri first of all, just the physical challenge of canoeing, that are, they're out, they have to carry their own water and stuff like that, everything they need for the trip.

Walter Hoehn I carry dehydrated food. And during the course of that trip, they do several different fun activities they're saying a 0 foot spring.

It's kind of a interesting... It's called Blue hole is a round Spring about 50 foot in diameter. I guess they... So, in that it's about 30 degrees just about the freeze it's really cold and there's also a case usually end up doing is blocking on that trip. So, there's several... And I sit on the way, a region up there in the week, they start off by coming down here, and learning the horses night that they'll take the horse to rush you down and settle it up by their self, that the claim the style had a feed the horses and know how to take care of a horse and how to kinda see some of the sicknesses when the horse gets sick and how to be able to take care of it if they need to. Are you gonna do a good job, it's really good.

Alex Person They've got great instructors and it puts a new twist when they've never done anything like this before, and inspire somebody. I really don't like the CAM want to do it more and more.

We want to maintain that interest, but we also want to develop the older scouts in the vestments way provides more leadership skills or surges. And the ring he kills as they have already.

It also gives them an opportunity to better the slate and the really gives them to about thing to do in the out of doors that were counting that year, the each camp site of GMA in both camps, Osage and camp Cherokee have outdoor latrines equip in a community sink in a cold water shower. In addition, the 23-cap sites of both camps within walking distance of restrooms complete with hot showers and flush toilets.

Or just thank you that you brought us up here today and that we would be to some of your word and to listen to what you want us to do. If I lost you pressure snapped him. And so I got... Ken Kimble Is a non-denominational organization, but at the same time, we all believe in one prime being and one God and they'll be able to come up here and they'll probably read some scripture or just speak about the principles of scouting and how that relates to the supreme being and the belief in an after-life.Vespers are held each week of summer camp at the non-denomination will go lightly. All based chapel as scouts are encouraged at all times to practice their faith in their own fashion.

Elaine boys go on America join the adventure for Cosimo.
