BARROW SPORTS BROKEN
ARM FROM CONVENTION
E. Tt. Barrow, chairman of the mu.
sic committee of the Chamber of
and president of the local
organisation, who has recently
returned from the naliona.1 convention
at Atlantic City, with his wife, is displaying a broken arm as the result of
his trip.
One day when there was' a luU in the
convention, he, with his wife and several other couples, took a
trip np the Hudson river. They landed
at one particularly beautiful spot, and
stood on a rock surrounded by a balustrade, from which an especially fine
view could be had. Mr. Barrow forgot for a moment his weight, and leaned
against the ballusirafle. With a groan
the balustrade "gave up the ghost,"
precipitating Memphis' musical sponsor to the ground about eight feet below. His foot caught in the wreckage,
throwing him on his left arm, which
was shattered at the elbow. Discussing
the incident, he expresses thankfulness
that his wife was along, as he says an
alibi would have been an impossibility
had she not seen the incident.
