Memorable Experience

Arrowmen in Action

By: Chuck Barber
The Chickasah Lodge Fam ily
Banquet was held on December 2, at
Christ United Methodist Church. To say
the least, it was a very memorable
experience . .
About 130 people enjoyed an
excellent dinner prepared by the Christ
Methodist Kitchen Staff. Following the
meal, Past-Lodge Chief Jason Stewart
presented his LEG with personalized
plaques for their dedicated service to the
Lodge . Jason and Lodge Chief Ken
Kimble participated in the ceremonial
"Passing of the Bonnet." Ken then
presented Jason with a special award for
his work as Lodge Chief.
Vice Chief Brad Stevens presented
the some odd 40 people with their
Allogogan Awards for dedicated service
to the -t-odge. The LEC presellted ·Scott
Stephens and . Sandy Heckman with
special trophies for their outstanding
guidance in the Chickasah Lodge.
The highlight of the evening was
the presentation of the Founder's Awards
to Jason Stewart and Richard Stevens for
their dedication to the Lodge.
The 1993 family banquet was a
tremendous success so read your

Lodge Needs Adult Support

Help Restore the History of
your Lodge

By: Ken Kimble
The one question that comes from adults
is, "How can I help?" Adults are elected into this
youth run organization because adult !eaters in
their troops feel that they may be of some service to
the youth of the council. To clarify the purpose of
adults. the LEC has created The 1994 Adult
Leadership Campaign . Adults can best fulfill their
role in the Order of the Arrow by following these
three simple steps :
1. Bring at least three youth arrowmen for
every adult to Lodge functions.
2.
Serve as a Knowledge base in their
troops for all Order of the Arrow events and Lodge
functions.
3. Be active and supportive members of
the Chickasah Lodge and its officers.
The theme for this campaign is A D U LT

This year the LEC is commited to compiling
a list of all past Lodge Chiefs. We have records
dating back to the mid '80s, but the Lodge goes
back decades further. Any information you have
about past Lodge Chiefs will be greatly
appreciated. Please contact Andrew Williams at

Weekend
The Chickasah Lodge is sponsering a precamp service project for the Chickasaw Council.
This event will be held on April 29- May 1 at Kia
Kima Scout Reservation. The purpose of this
project is to prepare Kia Kima for its use as a spring
training facility for the National Camp School. We
would like a minimum of 23 units to register for this
event. All units will provide their own food and
supplies. Their could be a patch and/or unit
participation ribbons given to those units to attend.
Adult leaders remember, Adult support= youth
involvement so throw the young'ns in the back of
the pick-up and come to Kia Kima on April 29- May

reached at 323-5712 to answer any questions
about this fulfilling service weekend . The
Chickasaw Council and the Chickasah Lodge hope
to see every unit from 23 to 219 there with their

By: Chuck Barber
The Chickasah Lodge Fam i ly
Banquet was held on December 2 , at
Christ United Methodist Church . To say
the least, it was a very memorable
experience . .
About 130 people enjoyed an
excellent dinner prepared by the Christ

meal, Past-Lodge Chief Jason Stewart
presented his LEG with personalized
plaques for their dedicated service to the
Lodge . Jason and Lodge Chief Ken
Kimble participated in the ceremonial
"Passing of the Bonnet." Ken then
presented Jason with a special award for
his work as Lodge Chief .
Vice Chief Brad Stevens presented
the some odd 40 people with their
Allogogan Awards for dedicated service
to th e - t-odge. The LEC presellted · Scott
Stephens and . Sandy Heckman with
special trophies for their outstanding

to Jason Stewart and Richard Stevens for
their dedication to the Lodge.
The 1993 family banquet was a

The Vigil Honor
Alertness to the needs of others is the
mark of the Vigil Honor. It call for an individual with

interest have made distinguished contributions
beyond the immediate responsibilities of their
position or office to one or more of the following :
their Lodge, the Order of the Arrow. Scouting. or
their Scout camp. Under no circumstances should
tenure in scouting or the Order of the Arrow be
considered as reason enough for a Vigil Honor
recommendation.

the Order of the Arrow can bestow upon its
members for service to the Lodge, council , and
Scouting.
