CHICKASAW COUNCIL,
BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA, INC.
Member of The Memphis & Shelby County Community Chest
The entire member ship of Chickasaw Council welcomes you
to the 1953 Boy Scout Exposition and Arena Show.
Throughout the year your Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Explorer•
Scouts participate in a wide range of activities within their respective
Packs, Troops and Posts. This Exposition and Arena Show affords your
Scouts the opportunity of demonstratin g to you that Scouting, while
building character and training for citizenship, is fun.
Four camps are provided for the camping and outdoor program
which is so fundamental a part of Scouting. Kamp Kia Kima is a summer camp located at Hardy, Arkansas. Camp Currier near Eudora,
Mississippi, i open the year 'round and your Explorers have a campsite on Cemetery Ridge at Sardis Lake, Mississippi. Negro Scouts have
their Camp Fuller in T. 0. Fuller State Park south of Memphis. The
net proceeds of the Exposition and Arena Show are used only for
permanent camp improvement s as these cannot be paid for with Community Chest funds which provide only for current operating expenses.
The Scouts, Scouters and Staff of Chickasaw Council appreciate
your support of this undertaking and hope that it merits your appr.oval.

CHl,CKASAW COUNCIL,
BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA, INC.
Member of The Memphis & Shelby County Community Chest
We of Chickasaw Council welcome you to this our fifth Boy Scout
·Exposition. We are glad you came to see the Exposition for in so doing
you recognize and pay tribute to the volunteer scout leaders and more
than 7000 Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers who have spent countless hours
in hard preparation for the demonstratio n of the scouting program in
action.
This exposition is the climax to months of interesting and careful
preparation in the Den, Pack, Troop, and Explorer unit meeting. It is
the units opportunity to show mother, dad, friend, and the public at
large how scoutings plan of "learning.by doing" helps Scouts to become
self-reliant and prepares them for participating citizenship.
Grateful appreciation is extended to the Boy Scout Exposition committee, to the officials of the City of Memphis, the Memphis Park Commission, Board of Education, Mid-South Fair Association, the press, television, and radio. To the advertisers in our program booklet, and the
parents and friends of scouting who have teamed up to make this Exposition an outstanding success.

Among the many fine projects of the Boy Scouts is the preservation of our country's resources, particularly its forests. To best
conserve our timberlands, the best and longest possible use of
the lumber already processed is necessary.
Lumber that is sprayed or painted with-or dipped in-COPPO
lasts up to four times longer than untreated lumber. COPPO protects wood, and all fiberous materials, against the dangers of
dry-rot, termites, and mildew.

If you are planning to build, remodel or repair, call us for details
about COPPO Copper-naphthenate's many advantages.

SCOUTING
with a
PURPOSE

No Youth Program in the world has a more sturdy framework
for the building of resourceful, capable men, eager to accept
responsibility, than the Boy Scout Movement.
Healthy minds in healthy bodies are the best possible insurance for healthy mankind.
Men with Scout training are upholding the best traditions
of American citizenship throughout the world today.
In a trained (but not regimented) citizenry rests the hope for
the future of our nation.

We of Chickasaw Council welcome you to this our fifth Boy Scout
·Exposition. We are glad you came to see the Exposition for in so doing
you recognize and pay tribute to the volunteer scout leaders and more
than 7000 Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers who have spent countless hours
in hard preparation for the demonstration of the scouting program in
action.
This exposition is the climax to months of interesting and careful
preparation in the Den, Pack, Troop, and Explorer unit meeting. It is
the units opportunity to show mother, dad, friend, and the public at
large how scoutings plan of "learning. by doing" helps Scouts to become
self-reliant and prepares them for participating citizenship.
Grateful appreciation is extended to the Boy Scout Exposition committee,
to the officials of the City of Memphis, the Memphis Park Commission,
Board of Education, Mid-South Fair Association, the press, television,
and radio. To the advertisers in our program booklet, and the
parents and friends of scouting who have teamed up to make this Exposition
an outstanding success.

Among the many fine projects of the Boy Scouts is the preservation
of our country's resources, particularly its forests. To best
conserve our timberlands, the best and longest possible use of
the lumber already processed is necessary.
Lumber that is sprayed or painted with-or dipped in-COPPO
lasts up to four times longer than untreated lumber. COPPO protects
wood, and all fiberous materials, against the dangers of
dry-rot, termites, and mildew.

Healthy minds in healthy bodies are the best possible insurance
for healthy mankind.
Men with Scout training are upholding the best traditions
of American citizenship throughout the world today.
In a trained (but not regimented) citizenry rests the hope for
the future of our nation.
