FURN! SHED

Regardless whether a Unit has a wall booth or a booth in the center area most
booths will have the same similar curtain backdrop on a pipe structure 7' high.
Likewise each booth will be separated by a curtain on a pipe structure standing
42 11 hi~. Care must be taken not to damage these curtains. :CO not hang aeything
directly from these curtains but see the Scout Show Committee for information on
how to hang posters, etc. Uni ts who got their applications in early enough and
requested electricity will be provided such, but if you do not need it please do
not ask for it. (The Scout Show Commit tee will furnish a sign i denti:fYing the
Unit, subject, sponsor and leader. The Unit should supply signs giving requirements for their Merit Badges or Advancement requirement where applicable. Each
Unit is to erect a rustic railing a.cross the front of their booth according to
specifications stated below.
RUSTIC F.RuNT RAIL TO BE PROVIDED BY EACH UNIT
In order to separate the spectators from the booth, and vice versa, each Unit
should provide a. rail across the front of their booth. In order to obtain Uniform! ty it is desired that this railing be approximately 3611 above the noor and
made of sapling approximately 2" to 311 in diameter. Lashings should be used
where needed (rather than nails - unless nails covered l:tY lashings). It is important to have this rustic rail fence across the front of each booth for stand,..
ardization, appearance and utility. Judges will also observe the railing of each
boo th in grading each Unit.
As another effort to improve this year's show and eliminate some of the cri tici sms of previous shows the Committee requests the cooperation of all Units in
the following policies:

NCiaE - Units are asked not to use loud speaker systems or other excessive noise
producing devices which wuld interfere with your neighboring booths •.
INFORMATION BOOTH iiND P. A. SYSTliM ... A responsible adult will be in charge of the
public address system in the information booth. . Only important announcements
are to be made. Regular routine announcements and cal ling should be eliminated
once the show starts in order to reduce excessive noise and encourage people to
listen to,,.hat is important enough to be announced throughout the building.
CLEA:NLINESS - It is suggested that Units bring an old broom along to keep their
booths swept clean.
TIME OF SHOW

Have your booth ready on time and in action when show opens each day and buq up
to closing time •.

CHICKASAW COUNCIL, . B. 5. A.

WHAT ABUUT THE 1959 S00UT-O-RJl.MA?

[he 1968 Soout Show Committee whhla to thank the Units who a.re participating and
doing a good job in tho mow thh year. Wo 11p1aially would like to commend the
Un:lt1 who tollow1d. dir1aUon1 and. r1q,u.1•h of th• committee in such matters a.s
(l) Sending in your applio&tion fo:r p&:rt1oip&t1on ear]¥ - well before the deadline.
( 2) 11. sting at leaat thr11 to :t1v1 (&I :r1qu11ted.) prefer red choices of subject·s.
(3) Requesting eleotrio1ey, d.odrtd. 1i1t ot booth and other special. desires early
in the planning stage :tor the 1how.

The first information booklet and the applioation for your Unit! s participation
were mailed out to each Unit in the fall~ ~his was done at that time on the
assumption that your Unit was operating, as you were trained in your Scout
Leader 1 s :Basic Training Course, on a twelve month program with all the highlights
planned early in the fall.

So next year in ord(:}r to secure your first choice of subject, to prevent a lot
of last minute planning and preparations, to facilitate the job of the Scrut Show
Committee and to have an improved show why not select your Scout-0-Rama theme
i_n September or October and then return your ap-plication for participation
promptly after it is received so it will not get misplaced, lost or forgotten
until too late.

It is hoped that you will like the la;yout this year of having booths arranged by
subjects and less duplication than previously. .A:n:y' and all constructive criticism or suggestions for improvement concerning this year's show will be gladly
received by the 1958 scout Show Committee and passed on to the 1959 Scout-0-Rama
Committee.

The design for this year's patch has received much favorable comment. We hope
this encouraged your boys to sell more tickets, thus making money for themselves,
their Unit, and their Council 1 s catrq)s and also getting more people to come to the
Show and learn more about· Scouting.

Regardless whether a Unit has a wall booth or a booth in the center area most
booths will have the same similar curtain backdrop on a pipe structure 7' high.
Likewise each booth will be separated by a curtain on a pipe structure standing

directly from these curtains but see the Scout Show Committee for information on
how to hang posters, etc. Uni ts who got their applications in early enough and
requested electricity will be provided such, but if you do not need it please do
not ask for it. (The Scout Show Commit tee will furnish a sign i denti:fYing the
Unit, subject, sponsor and leader. The Unit should supply signs giving requirements
for their Merit Badges or Advancement requirement where applicable. Each
Unit is to erect a rustic railing a.cross the front of their booth according to
specifications stated below.
It is important
to have this rustic rail fence across the front of each booth for stand,..
ardization, appearance and utility. Judges will also observe the railing of each
boo th in grading each Unit.
As another effort to improve this year's show and eliminate some of the cri tici

the following policies:
NCiaE - Units are asked not to use loud speaker systems or other excessive noise
producing devices which wuld interfere with your neighboring booths •.
INFORMATION BOOTH iiND P. A. SYSTliM ... A responsible adult will be in charge of the

It is hoped that you will like the la;yout this year of having booths arranged by
subjects and less duplication than previously. .A:n:y' and all constructive criticism
or suggestions for improvement concerning this year's show will be gladly
received by the 1958 scout Show Committee and passed on to the 1959 Scout-0-Rama
Committee.
The design for this year's patch has received much favorable comment.
this encouraged your boys to sell more tickets, thus making money for
their Unit, and their Council 1 s catrq)s and also getting more people to
Show and learn more about· Scouting.
We hope
