FACTS ABOUT CHICKASAW COUNCIL
Chickasaw Council is made up of representatives from every institution chartered to
use the Scouting program and additional
leading citi zens in the council area who
are keenly interested in Scouting and its
development.
The council provides services to institutions and leaders to make their program
more effective. Among those services are
camp facilities, training opportunities,
advancement procedures, extension program,
conunissioner service, office service station, and a trained staff of professional
Scouters. These services are provided by
an operating budget. Citizens living in
the council make this operating budget
possible through their support of Shelby
United Neighbors, Sustaining Membership enrollment, and a council finance campaign in
some districts.
The council serves Shelby County in Tennessee; DeSoto, Tate and Panola Counties in
Mississippi, and part of Crittenden County
in Arkansas. The council has an enrollment
of over 14,000 boys and leaders in 400
Scouting units .

THE SCOUT UNIFORM
The uniform is part of the thrill of being a
scout. To- many a boy,. putting on the Scout
uniform for the first time is one of the
greatest thrills of his life. And no wonder,
when you think of the significance of that
khaki uni form.
First of all, it shows that he belongs--tbat
he is a member of the largest youth movement
the world has ever seen, that more than eight
million boys throughout the world consider
him their friend and brother. It represents
t he spirit of true democracy, bridging the
difference between rich and poor, putting all
on an equal basic in the feeling of real
brotherhood. It also helps build that alldesirable things, gang spirit, in his patrol
and troop.
But not only that--the uniform is a steady
reminder that he bas pledged himself to the
same high ideals of living as have his
brother Scouts and that dressed as a Scout,
he must act as the eyes of the world as
a real Scout and it keeps reminding him tba t
he has promised do to his best.
The uniform stands for brotherhood, Scouf
That's why it
ideals, and outdoor life.
should be worn correctiy and with pride.
Registered Scouts or Scouters may purchase
the Scout uniform from the official Scout
distributors listed on the back cover of this
Claendar of Events booklet.

FACTS ABOUT CHICKASAW COUNCIL
Chickasaw Council is made up of representatives
from every institution chartered to
use the Scouting program and additional
leading citi zens in the council area who
are keenly interested in Scouting and its
development.
The council provides services to institutions
and leaders to make their program
more effective. Among those services are
camp facilities, training opportunities,
advancement procedures, extension program,
conunissioner service, office service station,
and a trained staff of professional
Scouters. These services are provided by
an operating budget. Citizens living in
the council make this operating budget
possible through their support of Shelby
United Neighbors, Sustaining Membership enrollment,
and a council finance campaign in
some districts.
The council serves Shelby County in Tennessee;
DeSoto, Tate and Panola Counties in
Mississippi, and part of Crittenden County
in Arkansas. The council has an enrollment
of over 14,000 boys and leaders in 400
Scouting units .
THE SCOUT UNIFORM
The uniform is part of the thrill of being a
scout. To- many a boy,. putting on the Scout
uniform for the first time is one of the
greatest thrills of his life. And no wonder,
when you think of the significance of that
khaki uni form.
First of all, it shows that he belongs--tbat
he is a member of the largest youth movement
the world has ever seen, that more than eight
million boys throughout the world consider
him their friend and brother. It represents
t he spirit of true democracy, bridging the
difference between rich and poor, putting all
on an equal basic in the feeling of real
brotherhood. It also helps build that alldesirable
things, gang spirit, in his patrol
and troop.
Bu t not only that--the uniform is a steady
reminder that he bas pledged himself to the
same high ideals of living as have his
brother Scouts and that dressed as a Scout,
he must act as the eyes of the world as
a real Scout and it keeps reminding him tba t
he has promised do to his best.
The uniform stands for brotherhood, Scouf
ideals, and outdoor life. That's why it
should be worn correctiy and with pride.
Registered Scouts or Scouters may purchase
the Scout uniform from the official Scout
distributors listed on the back cover of this
Claendar of Events booklet.
